The DIAMOND study was a large, randomized controlled trial that compared the use of CGM with self-monitoring of blood glucose in people living with diabetes and taking multiple daily insulin injections.1 The original trial included a large age span (26–79 years) and showed that the use of CGM was associated with a significantly greater decrease in HbA1c when compared with self-monitoring of blood glucose. The gene discussed is INS; the disease is diabetes mellitus.
