Hirakawa et al. demonstrated increased numbers of enlarged LYVE-1-sinusoidal vessels in nonmetastasis-containing draining lymph nodes of VEGF-A and VEGF-C overexpressing transgenic mice [4, 8], amended by Liersch et al. for a VEGF-C overexpressing melanoma cell line in nude mice [9].
