Shen et al. found that inhibition of FAM83B could promote the expression of p21 protein, and then reduce the level of CDK4, CDK6 and cyclin D1, resulting in cell arrest in G0/G1 phase, but knockout FAM83B did not affect the invasion and apoptosis of pancreatic cancer cells [4]. This evidence concerns the gene CDK4 and familial pancreatic carcinoma.
