CD34 and spinal cord injury: Since limited publications report on the percentage of bone marrow CD34+ cells in children with neurologic conditions, we could only compare this value in our current study to studies in spinal cord injury patients (in a 0–20 years old group), i.e. a study by Chernykh et al. (reporting 5.4%) [31], and Deep et al. (reporting 1.05%) [28], children with spinal trauma (1.05%) [28], spinal cord injury (5.4%) [31], and children with traumatic brain injury (2.1%) [32].
