To our surprise, besides RaACE2, only Rousettus leschenaultia, a fruit bat, ACE2 showed a more than 10-fold increase in luciferase activity, ACE2s from R. sinicus YN, R. ferrumequinum, and Kerivoula pellucida showed 2.9, 4.3, and 1.9-fold increase in transduction over control, respectively, and the remaining 13 bat ACEs only gave background level of infection (Fig 1C). This evidence concerns the gene ACE2 and infection.
