The link between APOC3 loss-of-function mutations and low risk of ischemic vascular disease (IVD) was also confirmed in a meta-analysis by Wulff AB et al. [24] in which it was reported that carriers of APOC3 loss-of-function heterozygotes exhibit lower remnant cholesterol levels and, respectively, 37% and 54% risk reduction of IVD and ischemic heart disease (IHD). This evidence concerns the gene APOC3 and myocardial ischemia.
