NLRP3 and infection: Wan et al. found that the core component of E3 ligases, cullin1 (CUL1), catalyzed NLRP3 ubiquitination to suppress the activation of NLRP3 in resting cells, and it disassociated from NLRP3 to facilitate the assembly and activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome to protect against inflammatory stimuli and infection (Wan et al., 2019).
