Previous studies have suggested a T cell proliferative response toward TGM2 and TGM3 in dermatitis herpetiformis and celiac disease, and they have also demonstrated that the proliferative frequency of antigen-specific T-cell lines (TCLs) and the intensity of T cell proliferation are greatly increased upon continuous stimulation with TGM2 or TGM3 (Lorand and Graham, 2003). The gene discussed is TGM3; the disease is celiac disease.
