In line with that, Ldlr−/− mice reconstituted with Mid1−/− bone marrow cells also showed a reduced atherosclerotic plaque burden when compared to Ldlr−/− mice with Mid1+/+ bone marrow (Figure 8e,f), suggesting that Mid1 mediates the promotive effects of DPP4 on T‐cell migration and atherosclerosis (Figure 8g). The gene discussed is DPP4; the disease is atherosclerosis.
