Immunohistochemical stainings of formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded cell pellets for markers used in routine diagnostic pathology [35] demonstrated the absence of the mesothelioma markers cytokeratin (CK) 8/18, calretinin and Wilms tumor (WT) 1 and nuclear staining of BAP1, indicative of its wild-type status, in all three Meso-CAFs (Supplementary Fig. S3). The gene discussed is BAP1; the disease is neoplasm.
