The upregulated genes in COPD-derived AD-MSCs included pericyte markers CDH2 and COL4A1. Pathway analysis revealed that the most downregulated genes in COPD-derived AD-MSCs are involved in binding to specific components of the extracellular matrix and growth factors, while the most upregulated genes are involved in extracellular matrix expression and developmental pathways (See Tables 2 and 3 for the top 10 most downregulated and upregulated pathways respectively). This evidence concerns the gene CDH2 and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
