The frequently reported comorbid conditions were diabetes, hypertension, and arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease, and other major medication treatments included but were not limited to antiplatelet medicines, antihypertensive agents such as angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors/angiotensin receptor blockers (ACEIs/ARBs), beta-blockers and calcium channel blockers (CCBs). Here, ACE is linked to diabetes mellitus.
