Cholinesterase inhibitors, recognized as an official treatment of Alzheimer’s dementia, are also prescribed for dementia without Alzheimer’s; psychiatric disorders; and neurological diseases, such as Huntington’s disease (HD), cerebral autosomal dominant arteriopathy with subcortical infarcts and leukoencephalopathy (CADASIL), frontotemporal dementia (FTD), dementia in multiple sclerosis (MS), and progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) [9].
