Jiang et al. [52] studied a DSS-induced mice model of colitis to evaluate the effectiveness of paeoniflorin-6′-O-benzene sulfonate, an active monomeric anti-inflammatory agent produced by chemical structural modifications of paeoniflorin, and showed decreased G-protein-coupled receptor kinase 2 (GRK2) translocation and TLR4-NF-kB-NLRP3 inflammasome signaling in macrophages. The gene discussed is GRK2; the disease is colitis.
