INS and endothelial dysfunction: As shown in Table 3, miR-let-7c, miR-30a and miR-122 are related to the control of energy metabolism, targeting genes linked to insulin signaling (e.g., IRS1/2, PIK3R, FOXO1), adipogenesis (PPARGC1A, FOXO1), lipid oxidation (e.g., IGF1, PDK4), which strengthens the evidence for the mechanistic participation of these miRNAs in the events that culminate in obesity, insulin resistance and endothelial dysfunction.
