Since the NFkB system is involved in immune development, immune response and inflammation [84,85], and cytokines may play a role in the pathophysiology in BD and lithium treatment response [25], it may not be surprising that factors related to inflammation such as NLRP3 and NR3C1 showed larger increases in lithium responders (Table 2).
