Genes encoding for proteins of the Wnt/PCP pathway, including VANGL1 and VANGL2, SCRIB, NOS1AP, receptor FZD7 and its ligands WNT5A and WNT11, PRICKLE and Dishevelled (DVL) homologues, Dishevelled Associated Activator of Morphogenesis 1 and 2 (DAAM1 and DAAM2) homologues, and ubiquitin ligase RNF41, show a low frequency of mutations in breast cancer. This evidence concerns the gene WNT5A and breast carcinoma.
