In conclusion, in this study, we reported FGFR3 overexpression in Asian and Caucasian specimens with advanced UTUC and demonstrated that, in addition to the inhibition of growth and migration, the genetic interference of FGFR3 via gene-specific siRNA delivery may suppress the expression of EMT markers and transcription factors in cultured UTUC cells. This evidence concerns the gene FGFR3 and renal pelvis/ureter urothelial carcinoma.
