ACHE and early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease: In addition, geranylated flavonoids isolated from P. tomentosa fruits (6-geranyl-3,3′,5,5′,7-pentahydroxy-4′-methoxyflavane, diplacone, and 6-geranyl-3′,5,5′,7-tetrahydroxy-4′-methoxyflavanone) were able to mitigate the symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease by inhibiting the activity of acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and butyrylcholinesterase (BChE), resulting in increased concentrations of acetylcholine and butyrylcholine in the synapses.
