A frequently used and well-validated animal model of MS is the experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE) mouse model, in which the autoimmune disease is induced by active immunization with an encephalitogenic peptide (e.g., MOG35–55) from the myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG) [101,102,103].
