KLRB1 and cancer: In some types of cancer (i.e., TNBC, androgen-independent prostate cancer, glioma), CD161 appears to have immunosuppressive role, since tumor cells express C-Type Lectin Superfamily 2, Member D (CLEC2D) ligand and interaction between CD161 and CLEC2D hinders the cytotoxic activity of T cells [48,49].
