BDMC has shown, in different studies, the ability to induce arrest at S phase and subsequent apoptosis in human lung cancer NCI H460 cells, acting through elevation of Ca2+ and ROS and activation of ER stress; in fact, these events are preceded by GRP78, IRE1α, IRE1β, CHOP, ATF6α, ATF6β, and caspase-4 upregulation [188]. Here, HSPA5 is linked to lung cancer.
