In this sense, anti-inflammatory cytokines such as IL-4, IL-10 and IL-13 have been proposed to have a profibrotic role in the development of lung fibrosis [57], and precisely, in this work, we have presented data in which the levels of IL-4, IL-10 and IL-13 in plasma are increased in silicotic patients, in line with the TGF-β1 level increase. This evidence concerns the gene IL10 and pulmonary fibrosis.
