Oxidative stress is also one of the triggers of AKI [11]―that is, anti-oxidant substances such as superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione (GSH) and glutathione peroxidase 4 (GPX4) in the renal tissue cannot remove oxidative products such as ROS and malondialdehyde (MDA), and the dynamic imbalance between renal oxidation and anti-oxidants leads to AKI. Here, SOD1 is linked to acute kidney injury.
