According to the animal data, Gas6 and sAxl have been proposed as biomarkers for chronic liver disease: according to these observations, such biomarker expressions differently change between patients with established/advanced liver fibrosis and patients with initial or no fibrosis, thus supporting that the Gas6/sAxl axis exerts a profibrotic role in chronic liver diseases [43,47,48]. This evidence concerns the gene GAS6 and Hepatic fibrosis.
