Specifically, in the study of Gucuk Ipek et al., performed on 14 heart failure patients with an EF ≤ 35% and NYHA class II, treated with spironolactone 25 mg per day for 3 months, it was demonstrated that galectin-3 concentration decreased significantly between pre- and post-treatment (1.49 ± 0.58 vs. 0.98 ± 0.29, p = 0.01).
