An unicentric cross-sectional study of high-risk pregnancies that compared the levels of soluble fms-like tyrosine kinase-1 (sFlt-1)/placental growth factor (PLGF) ratio and soluble endoglin (sEng) for the detection of placental-related disorders identified an area under the curve (AUC) value of 0.895 (95%-Cl 0.83–0.96) for sFlt-1/PLGF ratio and 0.878 (95%-Cl 0.81–0.95) for sEng when considering HELLP syndrome [13]. The gene discussed is PGF; the disease is HELLP syndrome.
