Simple blood tests are required, such as for plasma levels of liver enzymes (aspartate amino-transferase (AST), alanine amino-transferase (ALT), gamma-glutamyl-transferase (GGT), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), bilirubin), markers of liver function (prothrombin time (PT) and/or international normalized ratio (INR), albumin, ammoniemia, factor V), and hemogram to identify hypersplenism. Here, ALB is linked to hypersplenism.
