LGALS3 and myocardial infarction: Patients with systolic dysfunction 6 months post-MI, defined as LVEF < 40%, had significantly higher Gal-3 plasma levels, when modelled as a continuous variable, compared with those with LVEF ≥ 40% (30.2 ± 25.5 ng/mL vs. 22.6 ± 21.2 ng/mL, respectively, p = 0.03, Mann–Whitney U test) (Figure 2B).
