Bevacizumab is historically the first targeted anti-angiogenic agent against the VEGF/VEGFR pathway approved by the FDA in ovarian cancer and is widely studied to be implemented in the first-line treatment [2,7,15,16]; with platinum-based chemotherapy in platinum-sensitive (OCEANS trial) [17] and platinum-resistant (AURELIA trial) [18] recurrent ovarian cancers. The gene discussed is VEGFA; the disease is ovarian cancer.
