Two clinical trials for p53-mutated myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS)/acute myeloid leukemia (AML) with 20–30% marrow blasts (oligoblastic AML) (phase 1b/2, NCT03072043) [24] and for p53-mutated MDS/AML, including cases with more than 30% blasts (phase 2, NCT03588078) [25,48], were performed to test the safety and efficacy of APR-246 in combination with azacitidine. The gene discussed is TP53; the disease is acute myeloid leukemia.
