In 10 CRC patients and their HS matched for age (58.40 ± 12.29 and 57.40 ± 12.17 years, respectively, p = 0.857) and sex (females, 60%), we analyzed plasma mEVs using flow cytometry that revealed a nonsignificant change in the count of CD41+ mEVs (Figure 1A) while that of CD31+ mEVs was significantly enhanced in CRC patients vs. HS (Figure 1B). This evidence concerns the gene PECAM1 and colorectal carcinoma.
