A systematic transcriptomic study on the reproductive and immune responses in the pistil of Arabidopsis species revealed that the genes encoding CRP subgroups CRP0570 (PCPAL/DEFL/LCR) and CRP0830 (SCRL) were down-regulated during both pollination and fungal infection in A. thaliana and A. halleri, which suggests that they might also function to protect reproductive tissues from pathogen attacks [113]. This evidence concerns the gene CRP and fungal infectious disease.
