In this context, despite that our study was a pilot study performed on a total of 51 subjects between COPD and healthy controls, and that it was performed on a cohort of the population with a mean age of 67.6 years, it perfectly matches with the result of the aforementioned study, regarding leptin and the total adiponectin plasmatic levels, that we found significantly increased in COPD versus healthy controls. Here, ADIPOQ is linked to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
