The results of bone microarchitecture and metabolic and neuronal stress markers from the mouse model of ELS, named MSUS (unpredictable maternal separation and unpredictable maternal stress) [63] were compared with a sample of depressive patients with or without ELS by analyzing BMD and metabolic changes in serum (i.e., osteocalcin, procollagen type 1 N-terminal propeptide, PINP, c-terminal telopeptide of type I collagen, CTX-I). The gene discussed is BGLAP; the disease is depressive disorder.
