APOA1 and coronary artery disorder: We used Mendelian randomization (MR) to catalogue, and prioritize, the biomedical consequences of elevated concentrations of cholesterol-containing lipoproteins beyond LDL-C, HDL-C, and total triglycerides (TG), including remnant cholesterol, IDL-C and VLDL-C, as well as apolipoproteins A1 and B. Findings include that CHD is affected by all of the major cholesterol-rich lipoproteins including HDL-C, IDL-C, VLDL-C, Rem-Chol as well as apolipoproteins A1 and B, and TG, with similar ubiquitous effects observed for cIMT, carotid plaque, and blood pressure.
