BACH1 and esophageal squamous cell carcinoma: Specifically, forced BACH1 expression caused a significant decrease in the production of monounsaturated fatty acid (MUFA)-containing phospholipids, while the production of the proferroptosis phospholipids phosphatidylethanolamine (PE)(18:0/20:4) and PE(18:0/22:4) increased to varying degrees (Fig. 5D), suggesting the dual-faceted impact of BACH1 on ferroptosis-related lipids in ESCC cells.
