Since the AKT-mTOR axis plays an important role in modulating epithelial-mesenchymal- transition, which is the key player in the modulation of TKI resistance in tumor cells [17–20], and we previously reported that TRIM15 contributes to EMT and metastasis in pancreatic cancer [11], we investigated whether TRIM15 regulates the process of EMT in liver cancer cells. This evidence concerns the gene AKT1 and familial pancreatic carcinoma.
