In the ESC-410 and KYSE-150 cell lines with a silenced-ACSL1 genome (sh-ACSL1), the exogenous overexpression of OIP5 can restore ACSL1-mRNA expression, demonstrating that OIP5 promoted lipid metabolism at the cellular expression level of the key enzyme ACSL1 to further regulate fatty acid metabolism in ESCC (Figure 6C). The gene discussed is OIP5; the disease is esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.
