CCL11 and early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease: Using ELISA, a post-mortem study of 23 former football players with neuropathologically diagnosed CTE and 50 subjects with neuropathologically diagnosed Alzheimer's disease showed a statistically significant increase in the CCL11 levels in the dorsolateral frontal cortex of CTE subjects compared to the Alzheimer's disease and control subjects [116].
