Hyperglycemia resulted in altered zebrafish pronephric development and was associated with altered expression levels of dachd, lmx1b, and wt1. Moreover, the occurrence of abnormal pronephric development adds to the substantial evidence that the key TF genes LMX1B, DACH1, and WT1 are associated with hyperglycemia-induced nephropathy. The gene discussed is WT1; the disease is Nephropathy.
