In women, there was a statistically significant difference between participants with and without hypertension regarding the parameters fibrinogen, D-dimers, protein S activity and factor VIII activity; females with hypertension showed higher levels of these parameters (fibrinogen: 317.1 vs. 292.4 mg/dl, p = 0.001; D-dimers: 459.5 vs. 370.0 μg/l, p = < 0.001; protein S: 124.8 vs. 117.9%, p = 0.008; factor VIII: 125.7 vs. 118.7%, p = 0.031).
