Analyses of data from the Cancer Therapeutics Response Portal (CTRP), which correlates data on gene expression and drug resistance for over 800 cancer cell lines, revealed that, similar to FSP1 (refs. 19,20), the expression of PARL and STARD7 positively correlates with the resistance of cancer cells to GPX4 inhibitors, such as RSL3, ML210 and ML162 (Fig. 2a). This evidence concerns the gene AIFM2 and cancer.
