Foxp3 requires interaction with a myriad protein factors like AML/Runx1 (acute myeloid leukemia 1/Runt-related transcription factor 1), NFAT (nuclear factor of activated T cells) and CTLA-423,24, and posttranslational modifications including acetylation, phosphorylation, and ubiquitination are also indispensable for its regulatory function. Here, RUNX1 is linked to acute myeloid leukemia.
