Although no study has delineated the signalling pathways by which CLEFMA affects cervical cancer cells, we could infer that CLEFMA, a potent curcumin analogue, activates extrinsic and intrinsic apoptotic pathways, possibly through the phosphorylation of ERK, JNK, or p38, in HeLa and SiHa cervical cancer cells. This evidence concerns the gene MAPK8 and cervical carcinoma.
