HSULF-2 is a heparan sulfatase-2 protein that exhibits 6-O-endo-sulfatase activity and that is differentially overexpressed on the surface of most cancer cell lines and is also found to be upregulated at the transcriptional level in ductal carcinoma in situ and invasive ductal carcinoma [29]. This evidence concerns the gene SULF2 and ductal breast carcinoma in situ.
