However, in cancer cells with F1,6P treatment, nuclear‐accumulated F1,6P directly targets to HMGB1, which promotes the anti‐tumor but inhibits the pro‐tumor functions of HMGB1, suggesting a potential role for F1,6P as an HMGB1‐targeting drug for cancer therapy, alone or in combination with chemotherapy.
