A recent study further showed a dose-dependent effect of DEPDC5 knockdown in increasing the intrinsic activity of excitatory neuron networks, mediated by mTORC1 hyperactivation [27],while the inactivation of DEPDC5 highlighted a novel role of mTORC1 upregulation in the pathogenesis of epilepsy through defects in the development of GABAergic neural networks in the zebrafish. Here, DEPDC5 is linked to epilepsy.
