Because the full activation of NK cells requires the coengagement of different activating receptors27,28, we have developed an antibody-based NK cell engager (NKCE) technology for the generation of trifunctional molecules (NKp46-CD16a-NKCEs) targeting antigens expressed on cancer cells and coengaging NKp46 and CD16a on NK cells29,30. The gene discussed is NCR1; the disease is cancer.
