The 3D-structures of IgG1-Fc complexed with CD32 (ref. 54) and the complement factor C1q (ref. 55) also revealed a highly probable competitive mode of binding to CD64, suggesting that CD64 expression may also protect cancer cells from antibody-dependent cell phagocytosis and complement-dependent cytotoxicity.
