Regarding BChE inhibition, recent in silico and in vitro studies of a new series of Tacrine derivatives (spiro[chromeno[4,3-b]thieno[3,2-e]pyridine]-7-amines) showed that these exerted good BChE inhibitory activity, thereby proving to be promising candidates for evaluation in synthetic AD models21. The gene discussed is BCHE; the disease is Alzheimer disease.
